PATIENT ADVISORY

IMPORTANT COMMUNICATION FOR PATIENTS

The Doctor of Chiropractic has a Master’s Degree in Chiropractic in line with international standards on chiropractic education.

Such training is not currently available in Kenyan universities, which is why all chiropractors in the Chiropractic Association of Kenya have a degree obtained abroad.

And it’s for this reason that the CAK only accepts among its members chiropractors who have graduated from universities that meet the quality and study standards laid down and established by international chiropractic training control structures such as the World Health Organization (WHO), the American & European Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE & ECCE)

All the chiropractors members of the association are licensed by the Ministry of Health.

BE AWARE

In Kenya, there is more and more chiropractic ‘operators’ without any real training… most of the time this operators have certification issued by universities and/or private institutions that are neither recognised by their countries of origin, nor accredited by international control structures, and whose training is totally inadequate to protect the patient’s health.

In view of the many private entities or foreign universities that issue titles that are not recognised by the country in which they operate – and in which the profession is regulated – nor even accredited by international control structures, the association believes it is its duty to specify that, in order to protect patients and the profession, in line with the WHO, CCE and ECCE does not recognise these titles and the related courses described as chiropractic techniques as meeting training standards and suitable for registration.
